What is a CIC?

CICs are a Government initiative promoting an alternative legal structure for charities and social enterprises. A CIC is a type of company which uses it's profits and assets for public good - they tend to be social enterprises. They are easy to set up and have special features to prove they are working for the benefit of the local community.
